Farmstock
Afon vet practice in one form or another has been providing a farmstock service to the surrounding countryside for over the last eighty years plus. All of our clients are tradtional welsh farms which have often been in the same families for several generations.
Farm Practice Update
We have now completed the building of our new stable block at the Neath surgery. The block will provide new examination facilities for farmstock together with hospitalisation and overnight accommodation for farm stock under veterinary supervision, with full access for stock vehicles on site
We provide a 24-hour, 365 -day service to our registered farms which are scattered over the Swansea , Neath,Dulais and Afan Valleys , stretching up to the Brecon Beacons National park down to the coast of South Wales.
We aim to provide our clients with a full farm practice service offering all the work associated with large animal practice with a particular emphasis on preventative medicine and focussing on improving animal production.
In 2007 we became the first practice in Wales to offer our beef clients an on farm bull fertility testing service . We have also set up a farmstock club which is open to all farmers in the surrounding area. Here we give presentations on animal health and production and disease control.
